Stamped only "Pure Coin," this pie server surely traces to mid 19th century Boston, and was likely made by Farrington & Hunnewell of that city. It has an Olive pattern double die struck handle, meaning the design appears on both sides, that is without a monogram or removal. This fork measures 8 3/8" long and weighs 1.8 T. oz. It has four tines, the lower one of which is wider than the others and has a trident tip. These two sterling teaspoons are both Art Nouveau in style and date from early in the 20th century. The first is Shiebler's Fiorito. It measures 5 7/8" long and is relatively weighty at 1.0 T. oz. Boston's Richard Dimes produced a variety of silverware but is perhaps best known for his Arts & Crafts work. This 4 3/8" long, not quite .7 T. oz. ladle is an example of that mode at his finest. Apparently one of the more popular souvenir spoons of the 1893 Columbian Exposition, this piece is extremely detailed, finely rendered, and in mint, completely wear free, condition. The portraiture includes every bit of iconography that could possibly be included. The subjects become studies in themselves upon close examination. These twelve oyster or seafood cocktail forks remain with their original presentation box. The pattern is Gorham's late 1870's, Hindostanee, while the retailer was M.S. Smith & Co., of Detroit, as indicated on the interior lid of the box. The original paper label is still affixed to the underside of the box. Larger than demitasses and smaller than teaspoons, these two items are coffee or five o'clock spoons. The St. Cloud measures 4 5/16" long and is relatively heavy. It is without a monogram or removal, is in immaculate condition, and has a brilliant gold wash finish on both sides of the bowl. The No. 14 spoon measures 4" long and has an overall satin matte finish. The design is Moorish in style. It also is without a monogram or removal and in mint condition.
