At 10 1/8" long and nearly 3 T. oz., this mid 19th century serving item is massive by any measure. It is marked Warner and Coin on the reverse. The name Warner is most associated with Baltimore, but this may have a Philadelphia origin. Certainly the design suggests this, as the shape of the handle is quite similar to Faber items. The intricate bright work in the bowl is also suggestive of Philadelphia, several of whose makers excelled in this kind of work. The serving portion is 3 7/8 ...click for details
