This robust master salt was made at a critical inflection point in the history of Tiffany. It is stamped with the model number 1700 which in itself dates its design to the 1865-68 period. It also has an Old English "M" for John Moore, the designer whose full affiliation with Tiffany in 1868 launched that company into its own manufacturing history. This fork measures 8 3/8" long and weighs 1.8 T. oz. It has four tines, the lower one of which is wider than the others and has a trident tip. These two sterling teaspoons are both Art Nouveau in style and date from early in the 20th century. The first is Shiebler's Fiorito. It measures 5 7/8" long and is relatively weighty at 1.0 T. oz. These twelve oyster or seafood cocktail forks remain with their original presentation box. The pattern is Gorham's late 1870's, Hindostanee, while the retailer was M.S. Smith & Co., of Detroit, as indicated on the interior lid of the box. The original paper label is still affixed to the underside of the box. Larger than demitasses and smaller than teaspoons, these two items are coffee or five o'clock spoons. The St. Cloud measures 4 5/16" long and is relatively heavy. It is without a monogram or removal, is in immaculate condition, and has a brilliant gold wash finish on both sides of the bowl. The No. 14 spoon measures 4" long and has an overall satin matte finish. The design is Moorish in style. It also is without a monogram or removal and in mint condition.
