Measuring 5 1/2" long, and having 1 1/2" natural bristles, this clothes brush was made by Whiting. The company emblem, model number "4236," and "Pat. 1895" are stamped on the edge of the silver.

The design is a scroll and floral motif that is so close to the company's line pattern "Hyperion" as virtually to be a match. It has a "GOM" script monogram in the reserve area.

It is in very fine condition. The silver is free of dents or pinholes...

A requisite item for a Victorian lady, this bonnet or hat brush was made by Gorham, whose "lion, anchor, G" emblem is stamped on the handle. Other marks include "Sterling," the model number "C159," and the date emblem for "1898."

It measures 6 1/2" by 3 1/2". The natural bristles themselves are 2 3/4" long.

The design is an opulent floral and scroll motif, featuring both roses and asters or daisies.

It is in very fine condition...

Whiting's "Fantasy" is a pattern about which little information is available. Aesthetic in nature and likely dating from the late 1800's, examples of it are scare.

This piece is a generously proportioned soap box, measuring 4" x 3" by 1 1/2" and weighing an unusually hefty 4.9 T. oz. It has an overall hammered surface, with an added design created by chased beading. It also has an ornate Art Nouveau "HLM" monogram engraved on the lid...
