Durgin Madame Royale Sterling Sugar Tongs

Measuring 4 1/2" long and weighing .9 T. oz., this pair of sugar tongs were made by Durgin in its 1897 Madame Royale pattern. The design is predictably French in manner, with a ribboned edge crested by a leaf and scroll cluster. There is an Old English "H" monogram on the arch. The grips are talon form and have hair detailing. The condition is mint. There is no visible wear, nor bends, cracks, or marring of any sort. The Marks are the Durgin "D," Sterling, and 925/1000.
