Wendt Florentine Sterling Ice Cream Server
$ 195
Dating from 1870, John Wendt's Florentine is a Renaissance Revival pattern with Moresque influences. This example is a large, 9 1/2" long, 2.6 T. oz., ice cream server or slice. It was retailed by Boston's "Shreve Crump & Low," as stamped on the backside. Other marks include "Patent" and "925." The artfully engraved blade has flanged shoulders and a matte finish. The condition is outstanding and the piece is without a monogram or removal. Pattern detail is free of polishing wear, the blade is even and without bends or burrs, and the finish is lustrous.
