Gorham "Old Baronial" Sterling Bon Bon or Nut Spoon

Measuring 4 1/2" long and weighing a relatively heavy .8 T. oz., this item is a bon bon or nut spoon. The pattern is "Baronial," aka "Old Baronial" by Gorham, dating from the late 19th century. It is an early piece with decorated shoulders, and a pierced bowl that retains a goodly portion of its original gold wash. It is in excellent condition and is without a monogram or removal. The pattern detail remains sharply defined, with the emblematic lion's head at the tip of the handle fully articulated. Marks are lion, anchor, G, "Pat. 1898," and "Sterling."
