Choice Gorham "Norfolk" Sterling Silver Sauce Ladle
An early 20th century design, Gorham's "Norfolk" speaks in clean, simple terms in contrast to the highly decorative patterns of the immediately preceding Victorian era. It has a double scrolled, double lined border that traces around a curvilinear handle. This example is a 5 1/2" long, relatively heavy, 1.2 T. oz., sauce or large cream ladle. It is in strikingly fine condition, showing no wear whatsoever. The bowl has a brilliant gold wash on the interior and flanged shoulders, while there is a script "LLE" monogram on the handle. Marks are lion, anchor, G, "Sterling," and "Pat. 1903."
