"Wishbone" Sterling Silver Tea Caddy Spoon
A whimsical design, this 3" by 1 1/2", .6 T. oz. tea caddy spoon features a "wishbone" encircling the cupped bowl of the piece. The knob end of the bone forms the handle. It is marked "Sterling," "550," and has a rubbed maker's stamped that appears to belong to "The Merrill Shops" of NYC, in which case it would date somewhere from the 1890's into the first third of the 20th century. There is a script "SK" monogram in the center of the bowl. It is in flawless condition, free of any signs of use, and having a brilliant finish.
