Dating from the mid 19th century, Hall, Hewson & Brower were located in Albany, New York.
This example of their work is a 7 1/2" long, nearly 1.2 T. oz., right angle, coin silver master butter knife. It was retailed by "W.D. & A. McLean" according to the mark alongside the HH&B with eagle emblem on the blade.
The blade is engraved with a waterside scene of a structure on the land and a sailboat in the background. Other portions of the blade have leafy elements and engine turning.
The handle is also engraved in a period design that includes diamond cuts and a feathered script "SER" monogram.
The condition is excellent. The blade and handle are both free of bends, nicks, or burrs, and the engraving remains well-defined.
