International "Frontenac" Large Sterling Gravy Ladle
Measuring 7 7/8" long with a bowl that is 2 7/8" in diameter by 3/4" deep, and weighing a substantial 3.4 T. oz., this "Frontenac" gravy ladle is exceptionally large. It is an early example of this Art Nouveau design, marked with the Simpson, Hall, Miller helmet-over-shield emblem of International Silver, "Sterling," and "Pat'd." It is in exceptionally fine condition and without a monogram or removal. It has a slightly upturned end and retains all the fine detailing that characterizes original pieces of this pattern. This includes precisely rendered stamen and pollen flecks on the blossoms and stippling around the margins of the design and the backside of the handle.
