These six coin silver teaspoons are exceptionally fine examples of mid 19th century coin silver. They all match and are marked with the three part pseudo hallmark of Albany, New York's Johnson & Godley (1843-50), and the name of the retailer, "Hood & Tobey," also of Albany and with overlapping dates with J&G.
Each spoon measures a slightly over-sized 6 1/4" long, while the group weighs 3.4 T. oz. They have tipt ends and the same double monograms, "F.S.N." and "E.S." in script lettering. The bowls are clean, well-shaped and pointed. The finishes are lustrous, and the inscriptions remain crisp, free of polishing wear.
