Patented in 1894, Gorham's "King George" was that company's most successful "King" iteration.
This example is a 5 3/4" long, and consistent with the line, relatively heavy .9 T. oz., grapefruit or citrus spoon. It has a script "MPC" monogram and retains a portion of an original gold wash finish in the bowl. The bowl has a flanged rim and an elongated, pointed tip.The condition is very good, with the only sign of use being light polishing wear. Marks are lion, anchor, G, "Sterling," and the name of the retailer, Boston's "Shreve, Crump & Low Co."
