Measuring 7 5/8" long and weighing a substantial 2.2 T. oz., this preserve spoon is an early example of International's Art Nouveau "Frontenac." It is marked with the Simpson, Hall, Miller helmet-over-shield emblem of International Silver, along with "Sterling," and "Pat."
It is in exceptionally fine condition and without a monogram or removal. It has a slightly upturned end and retains all the fine detailing that characterizes original pieces of this pattern. This includes precisely rendered stamen and pollen flecks on the blossoms and stippling around the margins of the design and the backside of the handle. The finish is lustrous and shows only light surface scratches consistent with age.
