Carrying the lion, anchor, G mark of Gorham, along with the words "Pat. 1895" and "Sterling," this 4 3/8" long, just under .5 T. oz., lemon fork is an early example of Gorham's "Chantilly." The rounded shoulders with the scroll detailing distinguish this from latter production pieces which have plain, more angular shoulders.
Identified as the most popular flatware design ever produced, Chantilly's appeal remains enduring.
