Unusually proportioned for such items, this pierced confection spoon measures 5 3/4" long overall and has an exceptionally large, round, serving end that is 2 13/16" in diameter and 5/16" deep. This is as big as might be used for a pea spoon.
The pattern is "Cupid" by Dominick & Haff. This is a rococo design incorporating scroll, bead, and shell detailing framing a cupid's face that is set just below the reserve on the front of the handle.
It is in flawless condition and without a monogram or removal. Pattern detail remains crisp and well-defined and the finish is pleasing. The bowl is free of dings, burrs, or splits.
Marks are the Dominick & Haff emblem, "Sterling," and "Pat'd. '91."
