Marked Tiffany & Co.," "Sterling Silver," "925/1000," and with the pattern number "15602" dating from 1903, and a lower case "m" for the directorship of John Moore II, which began in 1907, this gravy boat traces to the first decade of the 20th century.
It measures 7 1/4" long, 4 1/4" wide, stands 3" to the highest point, and weighs 6.2 T. oz. The body is oval and plain save for an applied, lined rim on the interior lip. It sits on four splayed legs that have a slightly undulating design that suggests a carry over from the Art Nouveau mode. There is no monogram or removal.
The condition is outstanding. With a brilliant, mirror like surface that is naturally patinated, flaws would readily show. Apart from one scuff on the outside wall, and a little dulling in places on the interior wall, there is no evidence of use. There are no dents or bends, and the piece sits evenly.
