Smith & Sill Middletown, CT, Large Coin Tablespoon

This 8 15/16" long and substantial weight, nearly 1.9 T. oz., table or serving spoon is marked "Smith & Sills" for the Middletown, Connecticut partnership with dates 1825-31.
It has a clean, well-made look, and is in excellent condition. The arched handle has a tipt end backside and a large "JAS" feathered, period script monogram on the front. The wings off the bowl have broad, beveled edges.
Apart from one pinprick dimple, there is no tip wear, burring, or denting in the bowl, while the handle is without damage or significant polishing wear. The finish is nicely patinated.
