Kirk's flagship pattern is "Repousse" which was offered in a flatware line and a wide array of hollowware.
This example is a large, 1 7/8" diameter, 1 1/4" tall, heavy at nearly 1.6 T. oz., napkin ring. It is model number "28," as stamped on the inside, along with the words "S. Kirk & Son" and "Sterling." The particular mark on this was used 1932-61 according to Rainwater.
The chasing is especially detailed and finely rendered, executed in high relief. There is a reserve area, which in this instance is without a monogram or removal.
The condition is mint. The piece remains round, and is free of dents or burrs. There is no evident polishing wear on the repousse or dings or pinprick holes.
