Although named "Colonial," this design by Gorham exhibits the Aesthetic sensibilities of its 1885 patent date. A simple design, the tapered handle appears to portray (perhaps grass) strapping. The end is rounded, and in the instance of this 6 5/8" long, .9 T. oz., youth knife, engraved in a script "MFN" monogram.
This in in very good condition. The blunt-end blade is flat and even, and free of burrs, bends, or nicks. Apart from light surface scratches consistent with age, there is no evidence of wear.
Marks are the Gorham lion, anchor, G, and the word "Sterling" set on the backside of the blade.
