As with so much of the design product of George Shiebler, "Victoria" falls into a style of its own.
It has a border of what appears to be a repeating buds with tendril-like elements. This extends onto the shoulders of the bowl of this large, 8" long, heavy, 2.3 T. oz., gravy ladle. The motif bears a similarity to Georg Jensen's "Blossom," although "Victoria" predates that pattern by about twenty years.
There is a script "JEH" monogram on the handle. The bowl is plum-shaped and has a flanged rim that comes to a point at the tip.
It is in excellent condition. There are light surface scratches, most evident in the bowl interior. Apart from this, there are no signs of wear. The pattern detail is clear and well-defined and the finish is lustrous.
Marks are the Shielber winged "S" emblem, "Sterling," and "Patent 94."
