Measuring 7 9/16" long and weighing a robust 3.0 T. oz., this item has a large bowl with flanged shoulders. It is likely a small salad serving spoon, but the form is readily adaptable to multiple purposes.
It is an early example of Tiffany's "English King," marked "Tiffany & Co.," "Sterling," "Pat. 1885," and "M," this last letter indicating it was produced no later than 1891.
It is in very good estate condition and without a monogram or removal. The bowl retains traces of an original gold wash, visible for the most part on the backside, and is free of dents, dings, or burrs. The interior does show surface scratching with a light bit of flecking, but this is all within the range of normal use. The pattern detail remains well-defined and free of polishing wear.
