Perhaps the least common of condiment servers (a category which includes mustard ladles and horseradish spoons), chow chow aka picalilli spoons characteristically have narrow, deep bowls, and often relatively long handles.
This example is in Gorham's "Versailles." It measures 5 3/4" long and is heavy at nearly 1.0 T. oz. The bowl is 2" long by 1" at the widest and 1/2" at the deepest. It has a satin matte finish on the interior and retains a portion of an original gold wash.
It is old example with Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" mark, along with the words "Sterling" and "Copyrighted."
It is without a monogram or removal and in superb condition. It is absent polishing wear, with the cherub figure retaining full clarity of detail. The bowl is perfectly shaped and free of dents or burrs.
