Measuring 7 1/4" in diameter, standing 1 1/2" high, and weighing 7.1 T. oz., this piece has a flat bottom suggesting it is intended to be used as a wine coaster.
It is relatively large. The interior dimension is 3 5/8" across, which is just enough to accommodate a 1.5 liter bottle in addition to a .75 liter one.
It is model number "58F" according to the stamp on the underside. Other identifiers include the words "S. Kirk & Son," used 1932-61 according to Rainwater, and "Sterling."
It has a 1 1/2" wide, curved rim that has a dense, floral repousse design. There is a tiered step down between the rim and the interior wall which follows something of an ogee shape. There is no monogram, inscription, or removal of the same.
It is in outstanding estate condition. The repousse is completely free an any signs of wear or nicks or pinholes. In its entirety it is free of dents or bends. The bottom remains even and flat. The underside has a brushed satin finish while the rest of the piece apart from the repousse has a bright finish that shows only light surface scratches consistent with normal use.
