Produced by Baltimore's Jacobi & Jenkins, whose tower emblem appears on the undersides, along with the company name and the word "Sterling," this pair of c. 1900, matched, open silver master salts have cobalt glass liners.
They are large. Each one measures 3" long, 2 3/8" wide, and stands 1 1/2" tall. The sterling holders alone weigh 3.6 T. oz. The cobalt liners are old, original, and a deep blue. Each piece sits on four paw feet and have rimmed top and bottom edges. The bodies are chased and have a flower and swag design. The undersides are engraved in a feathered script "E.B.R." inscription.
The condition is outstanding. The silver holders are flawless. They sit evenly and are free of bends or dents. There is light polishing wear. The liners have flakes on the outside edges, but as these sit flush and the interior edges are not affected, these are not problematic.
