Dating from 1880, Whiting's "Heraldic" is an emblematic pattern.
It features a well-constructed, high relief, "sculptured" in effect, portraiture of a knight's helmet surrounded by leafy scroll detailing. Double die struck, the pattern appears on both sides of the handle, which in this instance is engraved "ELG to SMS" in fine script.
This example is a 6 3/16" long oyster or seafood cocktail fork. The line is heavy and that is case with this which is relatively weighty at .6 T. oz.
It is in mint condition, free of polishing wear and with a lustrous finish. The tines are even, pointed, and free of bends or burrs.
Marks are the Whiting lion logo, and the word "Sterling."
