Measuring 5 3/4" long and weighing just under 1.0 T. oz., this cucumber server is an early production piece bearing the three part Rogers, Lunt & Bowlen mark that was supplanted by the simpler Lunt Sterling in 1935.
The pattern is "Chippendale," dating from 1910. It has a reticulated handle with a design that is fully consonant with the name.
The serving end incorporates open work that is complimentary to the pattern elements. It is nearly square overall, approximately 2 1/4" on a side, and has an attractively scalloped border and slightly curved surface.
There is a delicate, script "LC" monogram in the heel of the blade.
This is in flawless condition. There is no visible wear, nor cracks, splits, or bends in the reticulation. The finish is hand polished brilliant.
