Davis & Galt was a Philadelphia partnership that references suggest began in 1888 and was relatively short-lived, with the company itself continuing into the second decade of the 20th century.
A manufacturer of numerous unnamed patterns, this example is a well-designed "Kings" motif.
It is a 5 3/4" long, not quite .9 T. oz., cream or sauce ladle. The handle is slender, thereby presenting as lengthy. The bowl is a charming and novel hemispherical, 1 1/2" diameter, 1/2" deep, scallop shell form.
There is a delicate script "MR" monogram on the front of the handle.
The condition is flawless. There is no evident wear. Pattern detail remains crisp. The bowl is well-shaped and free of nicks, dents, burrs, or breaks. The finish has a fine patina.
