An apparently very rare and historically valuable volume, examples of this trade catalogue are held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Getty special collections, as well as in several other significant settings.
Considerable online information is available about this volume, and given no book expertise is here represented, evaluation of this has to rest in outside sources. This comes through a family channel, not commercial or otherwise.
It is fully authentic, with a plate on the inside cover indicating that it was provided by Seeley Brothers of Boston to "J.E. Chase" of "Litchfield Plains, Me." It is "No. 2017" and dated "Aug. 30 1888."
It offers two color charts, one of "Alabastine," and a series of plates of painted structures with the colors correlated to the charts.
The book is intact and in apparently very fine condition. There is some foxing of the pages, but no tears or missing leaves. The colors remain vibrant. Please ask questions, though, as again, there is no capacity on this end to assess books.
