A large item, measuring 8 3/4" long and weighing a substantial 3.3 T. oz., this berry spoon was made by Wallace. It carries the Wallace deer head emblem on the backside, along with the words "Sterling," and "Pat. 1902."
The pattern is "Eton" which is a strong Art Nouveau floral design. It features a high relief iris blossom on the center of the handle, just below a reserve area, and smaller blossoms on the top end and join with the bowl.
The bowl itself embodies the flowing lines of Art Nouveau in its basic shape and also includes another iris bloom in the heel. The surface has a satin finish and retains a measure of an original pale gold wash.
The piece is in excellent condition and without a monogram or removal. Pattern detail remains sharp and well-defined. The overall finish is bright. The bowl is free of dents, nicks, or burrs, but shows some light flecking on the interior surface.
