This 6 5/16" long, just under .8 T. oz. butter pick is a fully authentic, as produced by the manufacturer, and not made up from another item, as many examples of this form are.
The pattern is Whiting's "Heraldic," which appropriately enough is dominated by the image of a medieval helmet set at the top of the handle. The remainder of the design incorporates a dense array of high relief, scrolling acanthus leaves.
In this instance there is a script "LNP" monogram set in the shield shaped reserve located just below the helmet.
It is in choice estate condition. All details of the pattern remain sharp and well-defined. The twisted pick is free of bends, burrs, or nicks. The finish is lustrous.
Marks are the Whiting standing lion logo and the word "Sterling."
