A large item standing 4 1/4" tall and having a base diameter of 2 1/4", this perfume bottle is German in origin. It is stamped on the neck with the national "crescent and crown" mark, "800" for the silver content (800 parts out of a 1000), and a "standing unicorn" emblem for the maker, Gebruder Kuhn.
An estate piece dating from the first part of the 20th century, the bottle itself is high quality cut glass fitted with a substantial all silver cap that is 1 1/4" high and 1 7/16" in diameter. This has a tight grip, snap clasp. The piece retains its original cut glass stopper that fits under the lid.
It is in excellent condition. The glass remains bright and clear and is free of cracks, chips, or nicks. Close examination reveals one "flea bite" flake on a lower cut edge. The lid remains securely attached, the hinge is snug, the finish is even, and there are no dents or other damage. There is one 1/16" long indent on the top that is visible only in a raking light.
