This 7 3/8" long, 1.2 T. oz., tea or dessert knife is unusual in several regards.
One, it is an example of Tiffany retailed coin silver. Early to adopt a sterling standard, coin instances perforce go deep into the history of that storied company.
Second, it an "Olive" pattern, which is one not commonly found among Tiffany's offerings.
Lastly the maker is unknown, with this only marked "Tiffany & Co." on the backside of the blade, and absent a manufacturer's identification that Tiffany generally provided. As numerous firms produced "Olive" designs, this could have originated from any number of sources.
The pattern is double die struck, meaning it appears on both sides of the flat handle. The front has an "ADL" script monogram.
The blunt end blade is solid silver and free of bends or any signs of wear beyond expected surface scratches.
Pattern detail remains clear and well-defined, showing only slight softening from polishing. The finish is warm and even.
