A matched pair, this sugar and creamer were a 25th anniversary gift, as indicated by the "ABF to MFCC 1859-1884" inscribed on the sidewall of each piece.
Made by Tiffany, they are holloware accompaniments to the company's 1872 "Persian" flatware line. The Moorish pattern is replicated on the two handles of the bowl and the single handle of the creamer, with a modification of the design appearing on the banding that encircles both the top and bottom of each piece.
The creamer measures 3 3/4" to the highest point of the handles, has a maximum span of 5 3/4", stands on a pedestal base that is 2 5/8" across, and weighs 5.6 T. oz. Corresponding dimensions for the creamer are 4 3/8" high, 3 7/8" handle end to spout tip, 2 1/16" across the pedestal base, and 4.4 T. oz. weight.
Each piece is marked "Tiffany & Co," "4494 M 3949," and "Sterling-Silver" on the underside.
They are in immaculate estate condition. Both pieces sit evenly, are free of dents, retain crisp pattern detail, and have bright finishes.
