Frequently found as a presentation or commemorative item, this flat blade form of a trowel pie server lends itself to an inscription.

This 11 1/4" long example has an engraved margin, but is otherwise plain and without any erasures.

The large, 6" long by 3 1/4" at the widest, blade is sterling silver, as is the shank which is fitted with a turned, appearing to be rosewood or mahogany, handle. The piece weighs 4.8 T. oz., including the handle, which comprises a relatively insignificant amount.

The marks are on the backside of the blade, and designate London, 1900-1, sterling silver, and maker "Jones & Willis" (Herbert Edwin Willis).

It is in very good condition. The blade remains flat and free of bends. The surface does show light scratches and flecking, but is otherwise bright and even. The handle is without chips or splits and fits firmly in the shank, with just the slightest bit of play.
