One of two floral patterns produced by Reed & Barton that became standard bearers for the company as well as early 20th century, Art Nouveau silver design in general, "Les Six Fleurs" is exuberantly expressive. Indeed, it virtually defines the concept of "liquid silver."

This example is a 6" long, heavy for its size at .8 T. oz., pickle fork.

It is a fully authentic, old example dating from at or near the pattern issue date of 1901, given the "Pat. Appld. For" inscribed on the backside in very fine lettering. Other marks include the Reed & Barton "eagle, R in a shield, lion" emblem and "Sterling," all also in well-defined small lettering as old pieces exhibit.

The three tine serving end is finished in a largely intact, gold wash front and back sides.

The reverse of the handle has an Old English "K" monogram.

It is in superb condition, showing no polishing wear other than some slight loss of the gold finish, and having a rich finish. The tines are free of bends, burrs, or nicks.
