$125.00 Price for a set of six.

Arising during the rococo period, English "picture (fancy) back" silver encompassed many designs.

This image is one of six, matching pieces made by the partnership of John Langlands & John Robertson of Newcastle, each one of which features a stylized shell with foliate elements.

They measure 5" long each and weigh 2.5 T. oz. the lot., and have down turned, reverse tipt, "Old English" handles with exposed drops.

The fronts have a feathered script "JML" monogram.

All are in very good condition. Overall there is very little wear and a fine finish. The bowls remain well-shaped and free of bends or dents. There are light surface scratches on the interiors, and one piece has a minor flake in the metal.

Marks are a "lion passant" and "I pellet L" over "I pellet R." The maker's marks are some rubbed but clear enough, in combination with the style of the pieces, to make a solid identification.
