$150.00 Price for the pair.

This two piece set is large, with the knife measuring 14" long and the fork 10 7/8", and often referred to as banquet size. The sterling silver handle on the knife is 5" and the one on the fork, 4 3/4".

The pattern is Gorham's old "Medici," which is an elaborate design that features Renaissance period figures, including a woman carrying a bundle of fruit in her skirt, as well as satyr and gryphon images

These are particularly early examples, marked "lion, anchor, G," "Sterling," and "Copyrighted" on the ferrules of the handles.

The handles and guards are silver, while the fork and knife blade are steel. These parts are all original.

Never monogrammed, the pair are in very good estate condition. Pattern detail remains well-defined, showing minimal polishing wear. The handles are free of any dents or splits and fit tightly with the steel. One of the guards has a small scuff mark. The finish on the silver is bright.

The knife blade is darkened and has clearly been sharpened numerous times, but retains a sharp edge. The fork is also darkened and has lost most of an original plated surface. The attached rest has one arm and is stamped with two patent dates.
