Model number "B 1464 M," as stamped on the inside edge, made by Gorham, whose "lion, anchor, G" emblem" along with the word "Sterling" appears alongside the code number, this napkin ring stands 1 7/8" high and 1 7/8" in diameter, and weighs just over 1.0 t. oz.

It has a plain, concave body that is ringed on the top and bottom margins by a series of five, cast, high relief, winged cherub or putti faces.

Childlike in appearance, their mien is consistent with this being a birth or baptism presentation. Indeed, it is inscribed on one side "Faber" and "April 21st 1900" on the opposing side, suggesting a confirming date for one of these two occasions.

It shows little by way of wear or use, in all probability having become a keepsake early in its history. It is free of dents, bends, or splits and remains round. The putti retain clean facial detail and the finish has a soft patina.
