A substantial piece, this pie or pastry server measures 8 3/4" long and is weighty at 3.15 T. oz. It has a solid silver, beveled edge, 4" by 2 7/8" at the widest, blade with rounded and notched shoulders and slightly beveled edges.

The pattern is Dominick & Haff's "Renaissance," which features an image of a Florentine style, north wind looking, bearded figure located on the midpoint of the handle and the backside heel of the blade.

This example, retailed by Boston's "Bigelow, Kennard & Co.," as indicated on the handle reverse, along with the D&H three part emblem, the word "Sterling," and "Pat-d. 94.," is the pierced version of this pattern.

The more common examples of "Renaissance" have solid handles, with the open style apparently limited exclusively to this retailer.

Never monogrammed, it is in choice estate condition. Pattern detail remains well-defined. The blade is free of bends, burrs, or tip wear. The overall finish is bright and warm.
