$250.00 Price for the group of eight.

This assemblage of eight boxes vary in size from a 1 5/8" by 1 5/8" by 1/2" high square at the largest, to a 1 1/8" by 3/4" by 1/2" tall oval and 1" by 5/8" high round one at the smallest.

The square one has a lined base, engine turned top, is marked "925" and "FS" in a circle, and weighs 26 grams (just over .8 T. oz.). The next largest is rectangular with rounded corners, plain-surfaced, marked with the Blackinton emblem, and weighs 16 grams (approximately .5 T. oz.).

The small oval has an engraved lid and is stamped "925" on the interior and weighs 7 grams (just over .2 T. oz.). The two round items, one with an applied fleur-de-lis and one with an applied rose and branch, as well as the larger round one with an embossed urn and leaf design on the lid, if marked, are not readily visible. The second oval box is stamped "Made in Italy" on the underside and has a raised "lions pulling a chariot" on the top and grape, flower and leaf motif around the sides, reminiscent of a Grand Tour piece.

These four appear to be solid silver to some standard, with the possible exception of the Italian one, and weigh 1.6 T. oz. the group.

The eighth item is rectangular, measuring 1 1/4" by 7/8" by 3/4" at the highest. It is stamped "Taxco 980" on the underside, and that identifier along with the applied flower-like design with an amethyst colored, cabochon cut, stone in the center strongly suggests it is the work of Damaso Gallegos.

All of the pieces are in excellent condition. The hinges are secure and the lids fit tightly. They are free of bends, dents, or tears in the metal, and have bright, even finishes.
