In business from 1879 to 1918, Coddington Brothers & Heilborn of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, was a manufacturer of silver novelties.

This 5 1/8" long, light weight, three tine, strawberry fork illustrates the imaginative diversity of the firm's products.

Apropos of the firm's New England location, the handle features a sculptural portrait of a Victorian woman in bathing or beach garb, with her hand resting on a pier post. Below this is an array of seashore creatures, including a fish, crab, starfish, and seaweed.

The backside is flat and plain, save for the marks which are "Sterling" and "C. B. & H."

It is in fully original condition, showing no wear and having a bright finish. The tines remain straight, even, and pointed.
