Measuring 7 1/16" long and substantial weight at just under 1.5 T. oz., this solid coin silver master butter knife has a flat handle on a plane with the blade.

Stamped "R&W. Wilson Philad" on the blade, it was made by brothers Robert and William with dates spanning the second quarter of the 19th century.

The pattern is a "King," and more specifically what Catherine Hollan in Philadelphia Silversmiths identifies as a "Honeysuckle" variant for the stylized floral element set midway on the handle.

There is a feathered script "HGA" monogram engraved on the handle front.

In good condition, pattern features remains well-defined although they show polishing wear on the high points. There are three visible, and perhaps deliberate, scratches across the monogram. The blade remains straight and without bends or nicks, but shows surface scuffing consistent with normal use. The finish is soft with a gray hue.
