Contemporary maker K.M. Silver is listed in one source with dates 1982-2012, although a company website indicates a founding date of 1977.

Judging from this example, which is a 5" long by 3 1/4" high to the rim, 5 1/4" to the top of the upraised handle, and relatively heavy at 5.2 T. oz., basket, the firm made high quality reproduction pieces.

This would be a fitting size for candies or bon bons.

This is Georgian in manner, with an oval bowl with raised ends sitting on a square base, pedestal foot.

The body has an applied, beaded border, which in this instance, and with a nod toward enhanced elegance, is finished in a gold wash matching the bright finish of the interior.

There is a solid silver, swing, handle, which again has the added embellishment of a gold finish on the underside.

The handle is quite snug, allowing it to stand upright, or in any position for that matter, on its own.

In excellent condition, and with a highly polished surface, this shows few signs of use. The body has two slight nicks, and otherwise there is no wear or damage.

The underside is stamped in each of the four corners with a "lion" for sterling, "anchor" for Birmingham, "K.M.S" for the maker, and "u" for 1994. The handle is imprinted with a "lion" and "u."
