Dating from early in the 20th century, Gorham's "Fleury" is a subdued Art Nouveau pattern that features small poppy blossoms set against a leaf and scroll border.

Delicate in portraiture, the design resembles the company's "Buttercup" as well as Watson's "Meadow Rose," both from the same general period.

This example is a large, 8" long, heavy at 2.1 T. oz., solid silver tomato server.

An early piece, this has decorated shoulders on the 3" diameter, reticulated blade. This detail appears only on older Gorham items, giving way to plain shoulders on later pieces.

There is a flowing script "TGC" monogram engraved on the handle front.

In excellent condition, this is free of polishing wear, retaining all the original precise detail of the delicate pattern. The blade is without bends, dents, or burrs, and the overall finish is warm and even.

Marks are Gorham's "lion, anchor, G" emblem, "Sterling," and "Pat. 1907."
