$175.00 Price for the pair.

Each of these two, matching, master salts measures 2 3/8" high to the rim, 2 1/2" to the tip of the handles, has a top opening that is 2 5/8" across, a maximum span of 3 5/8" handle end to handle end, and stands on a tiered, pedestal base that is 2" across on the bottom. The pair together weigh a substantial 5.2 T. oz.

Cauldron shaped, each one has a knurled band below the top rim and is fitted with a pair of upswept, solid silver, handles with anthemion leaf detailing.

Both pieces are engraved with a leaf script "L" monogram on the sidewall.

One of them retains its original gold wash interior, while that is essentially worn away from the second piece.

The overall shape and anthemion leaf design elements indicate these date from the Greek Revival period of the 1860s to early 1870s.

Stamped on the undersides "Sterling" and with the model number "262," they are without a manufacturer's mark, although clearly they were produced by a major American firm of the period.

They are in immaculate condition, free of any dents, nicks, or bends. They sit evenly on their bases, retain their round shape, and have bright and smooth finishes.
