$44.00

Measuring 5 5/8" long and weighing .9 T. oz., this sugar spoon is an early example of Whiting's 1905 "Violet" pattern, marked with the company "lion" logo, "Sterling," "Pat. App. For," and the name of the retailer, Salem, Massachusetts' well-known "Daniel Low & Co."

The portraiture of the flowers, leaves, and delicate stems is well-rendered, in keeping with the Art Nouveau manner in which style this falls.

The bowl itself is reminiscent of a leaf, with cut edge shoulders and a rounded shape. The pattern carries into the bottom interior.

Never monogrammed, this remains in flawless estate condition. It is free of polishing wear, or dents, nicks, or bends in the bowl. The finish is uniformly rich and bright.
