HOLD

Substantial weight at 1.4 T. oz., this 6" long ladle is an early example of Whiting's "King Edward," marked with the company "lion" logo, "Sterling," and "Pat. AP. 23, 1901."

Derived from an English "Kings" pattern, the design incorporates shell, leaf, and scroll motifs set in high relief.

For serving cream or sauce, it has a stylized shell bowl, which in this instance is finished in a matte gold wash front and back sides.

It is in mint estate condition, clearly little if ever used. There is no polishing wear, damage, or marring of any kind, and the finish is brilliant.
