$65.00 Price per piece, two available.

This 7" long place or dessert spoon stands apart on several counts, the first of which is its exceptionally heavy weight at marginally over 2.0 T. oz.

Secondly, marked "Tiffany & Co.," it traces to the early years of the firm when it operated solely as a retailer.

In this case the maker was Henry Hebbard, whose three part "star, H, anchor" pseudo hallmark appears on the handle backside.

Thirdly, it is to a coin silver standard, so stamped, which is unusual for Tiffany which prompted, indeed required, a sterling standard from the early 1850s forward, much before most manufacturers, who had to adapt if they wanted to sell through Tiffany.

A "French Thread" aka "Fiddle Thread" design with a slightly upturned handle end, it is engraved with a fancy, Old English, "K" monogram set sideways on the front.

Its staunch weight, i.e. thick gauge, spared it from bends, dents, or breaks, although there are numerous surface scratches and flecks from use. The engraving is free of polishing wear, the bowl is well-shaped, without tip wear, and the overall finish is bright.
