At 4" long and weighing .4 T. oz., this is a demitasse or coffee spoon.

It is hallmarked on the bowl reverse for London, 1899-1900, sterling, and renowned maker "Liberty & Co" (partially rubbed).

Designer Archibald Knox is strongly associated with this firm, and he very likely designed this which falls within the company's "Cymric" line. The pattern name is "Egbert" and is decidedly Art Nouveau in style and appears to be hand worked in whole or in part.

The flat, shaped, handle has a scribed or scored surface which is overlaid with a stylized poppy or other flower, stem, and leaves.

The plum or vaguely heart-shaped bowl is relatively broad and has a pointed tip.

The backside of the piece is plain, save for the marks.

In choice condition, there is no evident wear, nor bends or dents, and the finish is bright and even.
